I was lucky enough to grow up in Risingsun, Ohio, next to my grandmother and grandfather Hoover on their farm who embraced the place where we lived, surrounding us with their loving arms on both sides (until the age of 11) and behind, with our woods about a little further, that I loved to walk as a child, always looking for my “brother” hawk, circling over my head, to greet me.
Anyway, besides my parents, Grandma and Grandpa Hoover always made sure we had a rich Christmas celebration, in every sense of the word. We would always go to his house next door (a garden between us) on Christmas Eve and to my Grandma King’s in Fostoria on Christmas Day.
Grandma Vivian Hoover always made sure we had a lot of wonderful home-cooked food and baked goods of all kinds and different kinds of fudge and peanut brittle (my sister Sue and Grandpa liked them), and that each had ten gifts to open. She bought all year round from mail order catalogs and hid them somewhere upstairs. She also preferred the blue Christmas lights, like the candles on the windows, and she always asked us to take down the box with her artificial tree (because she was allergic to the real thing) and the horse sleigh bells to put around the front door and candy . tree poles …
When we were kids, my sisters and I always wanted to open our presents right away, but Grandma left that decision to Dad to decide whether to eat first or not. We ate first (which is certainly wise).
So I know the warm and adorable Christmas memories that many have, having experienced them, but once I knew that those holidays are actually pagan in origin, filthy observances that the Great Creator God of the Bible forbids His children and that God wants us to do. enjoy family and friends and the wonderful memories they keep its Biblical festivals that are kosher, I immediately stopped keeping Christmas and started keeping God’s holy days with His blessing. Now I try to help expose that Christmas is an abomination to others who would never have known otherwise!
I hope and pray for America, and for our Israelite peoples everywhere who have been gracious in so many ways, to remember our Hebrew roots (identified on the Brit Am Israel website) and biblical responsibilities and draw closer to our God and each other. farther away from those roads and those days that He strongly disapproves of because God loves us.
