It’s official. The future is now. Why? Not because of space travel, not because of waterproof cell phones, or even those new cell phone watches. No, we have finally reached the “future” because, after many years of patient waiting and many fake products, real hoverboards are officially a real thing. A company called Hendo has brought our Marty McFly-inspired ambitions to life, and recently let Tony Hawk test drive his own great design. The only problem here?
You have to have a bank account the size of Tony Hawk to get your hands on one of these bad boys. You do not believe me? A 5-minute ride (with the help of Hendo’s staff) will set you back a hundred bucks, a duplicate board without a hover motor (so just some fancy wood, really) will set you back $449, and an actual hoverboard is $449. 10,000. Sure, that’s a lot of money, but at the same time, it’s a hoverboard, one that you can essentially own and ride at any time. It’s time for you to start saving!
The hover action is not as severe as the Marty McFly board. The Hendo Hoverboards will hover about an inch above the ground. I have seen several negative people out there, complaining that the float action is small. I would like to remind you that this is known as a first generation hoverboard, knowing that the inch that Hendo allows you to hover is precisely one inch more than we have had prior to the introduction of the Hendo Hoverboard. Now you just need some of Marty’s bad kicks so you can float in style. There is also a completely new hoverboard available on the market today (sort of) right now as well. It’s kind of like a hoverboard but it’s called a mini segway, and the cool thing about it is that it doesn’t have handlebars and you’ve probably noticed that once or twice. These amazing two-wheeled electric scooters move only with the use of your legs, so no steering is needed. With these mini segway hoverboards popping up all over the world, it makes us think about how fast times are changing and what’s next for technology. There are numerous places where the mini segway is for sale, so if you’re interested, check it out at any local electronics store! Hendo is working right now to build the second generation hoverboard and they said they think they will release it in 2017. So if you are thinking of getting your hands on a hoverboard or should I say legs then please support Hendo!
Another interesting benefit of promoting Hendo is that the company, as well as its founder, Greg Henderson, have a vision that goes far beyond equipping people with amazing hoverboards. Hendo hopes to continue to create his floating technology, called Magnetic Field Architecture, so it could not only allow us to have floating skateboards, but also provide actual structures to float when it comes to natural disasters like floods, earthquakes, sea level rise. sea etc or even a zombie apocalypse.
