Karnataka declared its state on November 1, 1956. This day is celebrated as Karnataka Rajyotsava Day. It was referred to as Mysore State before being renamed Karnataka. Bangalore is the capital city of Karnataka, and this is the land of the Kannadigas, Konkanis, Kodavas and Tuluvas.

Karnataka is one of the four states in southern India. Karnataka is bordered by the Arabian Sea to the west, Kerala and Tamil Nadu to the south, Andhra Pradesh to the east, and Maharashtra and Goa to the north.

Ecotourism is promoted in places like Agumbe, Madikeri, Kudremukh. There are a total of 5 national parks and 25 wildlife sanctuaries in Karnataka. Bannerghatta National Park in Bangalore, Nagarhole National Park and Bandipur National Park are very prominent in Karnataka.
The temples of Hampi, Badami, Pattadakkal and Aihole have been recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Shravanabelogola is home to Gomateshwara, the world’s tallest carved monolithic statue. The Belur, Halebid and Hoysala temples are architectural splendors.
Murudeshwara, Karwar and Gokarna are popular tourist destinations along the coast. The places of sacred importance are Kukke Subramanya Temple, Sharadamba Temple in Sringeri, Udupi Sri Krishna Math and Manjunatha Temple in Dharmasthala. Basavana Bagewadi and Kudalasangama are separate centers for lingayatism.
The famous Jog Falls, Shivanasamudra, Abbey Falls, Gokak Falls, Magod Falls and Unchalli Falls are some of the weekend retreats in Karnataka.

Road – There are 15 national highways and many state highways that efficiently connect Karnataka with neighboring states. The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) operates buses daily to all major cities within and outside of Karnataka.
Sea: There is 1 major port and 10 minor ports in Karnataka. The port of New Mangalore is the main port, and this port handles cruise ships to other parts of the world.
