On Saturday April 10, the entire high political and military level of the Polish government was decimated in a tragic plane crash. The President of Poland and his wife were on that plane. It happened in western Russia.
On Monday March 29, suicide bombers attacked innocent people in the Moscow metro stations. No remorse, just a senseless killing of defenseless people. They discovered that two women had done the deed.
In San Diego, California, a well-known and bright high school student went jogging in a park near her home in March of this year. She was assaulted, raped and killed by none other than a registered predator. Absolutely no one was around her to help her.
Earlier this year, a 15-year-old girl from South Hadley, Massachusetts was bullied so threateningly by her high school classmates to the point that she committed suicide. The question many asked was, “Where were the school administrators and the parents of their tormentors while all this was going on?”
If you notice, every incident I mentioned had a fatal flaw. The entire top level of the Polish government was being flown in on a single, very old plane; Security at Moscow metro stations failed miserably to spot the bombers and protect people; a known and fatal predator was lurking in San Diego; and the 15-year-old high school girl’s tormentors were seen on Facebook posting vicious comments about her before her suicide.
This is a big world, and many people die every minute. The number one killer in the world is heart disease. In the US, heart attacks and cancer are the two leading causes of death. Still, no one wants to die prematurely. Our natural instinct is to survive and live a long and happy life.
How do we go about safeguarding our lives, if we are subject to random or pre-planned fatal events?
We have two alternatives: one, do nothing and leave everything to chance; or two, we pray harder than ever for God to help us, and we anoint ourselves with holy water to receive blessings. The latter I think is the perfect combination!
Consider the following if you have a teenage daughter. She goes running through the streets. Would you pray for her to return home safely, or would you just assume her safety? Depending on the neighborhood she lives in, the chances of her coming home are very good, if she is a safe area. The girl who died in San Diego lived in a good neighborhood. The predator that killed her in the nearby park came out of nowhere; and she was already looking for some female victim to attack.
Every case I mentioned above was caused by another human being bent on killing people. The two exceptions could be the crash of the plane carrying almost 100 Polish dignitaries and the suicide of the high school student.
Prayer is used all over the world to reach God. It is our spiritual connection to Him. However, I am a firm believer in using both avenues, namely prayer and holy water, to provide a “safety net” for myself and my children.
Everyone is familiar with prayer, so I will focus on the merits of holy water. Holy water is mainly used to keep disease and harmful spirits away from people and their homes. I have found more uses for it, which I will share with you later.
Before I continue with my explanations on the merits of holy water, I would like to answer five key questions that might arise; and I hope the answers help clear things up somehow.
1) “Can holy water do anything for me even if I don’t go to church?” You don’t have to go to church, or be Catholic or Christian to use holy water for your needs. Acceptance that God exists is the key here.
2) “If I use holy water, will it protect me from a plane or car accident, suicide bombers, cancer, a heart attack, earthquakes and hurricanes, for example?” I don’t know if holy water protects people from something like that. I want to believe so, but death has no favorites. That’s why we pray, and to a large extent let’s use holy water.
3) “Does holy water really heal wounds and heal pain?” If it does! I should know because I have already tried it on myself many times. (You may want to read some of my previous articles on this topic.) You, too, can discover the mystery of that power inherent in wounded water simply by seeking it out. The power is there, you just need to reach it with ‘blind faith’ if necessary.
4) “If I pray and use holy water to keep myself and my loved ones safe, am I wasting my time?
The combination of the two is a powerful force. No one wastes time turning to God for help. Holy water comes from God.
You may already have an established routine for prayer time and the use of holy water. Let me provide my recommended guidelines that I use. They are specific to a point, but they are simple and easy to follow. All that is required is that you make an effort to understand the value, importance, and effectiveness of each.
A) Prayer is the most familiar and direct method known to people around the world that allows us all to communicate with God. Through prayer you can ask God to provide protection for you and your family. I do it by asking him every morning and throughout the day. I do not have to prepare my application. I even do it when I’m mountain biking. I say, “God be with me” or “God please watch over me” just before I’m ready to commit my bike to a dangerous and difficult maneuver on the trails.
B) Holy water is my second recommended method of seeking protection, along with prayer. It is readily available in any Catholic church in the world, or I can get it and send it to you as a courtesy. I like to refer to prayer as “a spiritual path to God” and holy water as “the physical connection to God.”
Here’s what I suggest as you go about your daily life traveling, socializing, exercising, enjoying your home, and perhaps raising your children:
1) Taste the holy water to bless yourself, your family and your home regularly. Not only are you wishing everyone and everything well, but you are also providing a ‘shield of protection’ against disease and harmful spirits. A perfect example of a harmful spirit are the “drug dealers” who roam all levels of schools looking for prospects.
2) Use holy water to provide solace for any pain you like: constant pain from injuries, migraines, surgery, or anything in general. As I’ve said before, pain medication can’t do much before it becomes a habit, and that can’t be a good thing.
3) Use holy water as an element of last resort. You may have exhausted all possibilities for a cure, and time is simply running out for you or someone in your family, or perhaps a close friend. Don’t give up yet! Let me send you a vial of holy water and taste it for me. You have everything to gain if it works for you!
Based on all that I have experienced with holy water over the years, I have come to the conclusion that it is a powerful and critical element in today’s world, along with prayer. People in general pray, but especially when they need something or when they attend religious services. If you must make contact with holy water daily, “you will feel as if you have been touched by God.” Of this fact, I know without a doubt!
Holy water is readily available and free. I would be very happy to know that someone who read this article paid attention and started using it on himself, but especially his children.
While sprinkling holy water wherever and whenever, try your hardest to “Let go and let God” do His work. You have made yours.
