The island country of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is located near the Caribbean Sea. The area of this island is 389 square kilometers and it consists of the main island Saint Vincent and the third part of the Grenadines island. The last important place is La Soufriere. This place has the existence of large volcanoes and is located on the north side of the island of Saint Vincent. This volcano rises over 4,000 feet above ground level and during April 1979 the volcano had its last eruption. The name Soufriere is taken from the French language and implies the rigorous mounting of the volcano. Mountain hiking is considered to be the main event here and the windward coast of the island creates a unique excursion for visiting tourists.
