Ozone therapy is gaining popularity around the world, despite being one of the most misunderstood therapies available. It is used and freely studied by medical societies in Austria, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and France, including the International Ozone Association, the Medical Society for the Application of Ozone, the Swiss Medical Society for Ozone and Oxygen Therapies, and the International Society. of Medical Ozone. So what is ozone therapy, what does it do, and why is it so controversial?
Controversies and misunderstandings
Many of the questions that arise about ozone have to do with pollution and ozone alerts that we have become familiar with. When you hear words like “ozone alert,” it’s easy to wonder about the safety of something called ozone therapy. How can “pollution” be good for the body?
It cannot, but ozone is not pollution, it only serves as an indicator of pollution. Burning fossil fuels produces hydrocarbons that can accumulate and cause the pollution that we are currently fighting. When the sun’s ultraviolet rays hit hydrocarbons, ozone is one of the by-products. Since ozone is much easier to detect, it is used as a benchmark for hydrocarbon levels, but ozone itself is not the problem.
Some critics of ozone point out that people have died after receiving treatments from unlicensed doctors. This is true of any therapy when used incorrectly (some of the deaths we found were the result of non-ozone therapies performed by people who called themselves ozone practitioners). When used correctly, ozone is extremely safe, one of the safest therapies in the world. In contrast, according to the 2003 report, Death by Medicine, approximately 783,936 people in the US die from conventional medical errors each year and of those 106,000 are due to prescription drugs (a number that may be underestimated).
Velio Bocci from the Department of Physiology at the University of Siena in Italy, a leading ozone researcher, says, “The judicious application of ozone in chronic infectious diseases, vascular diseases, orthopedics and even dentistry has been shown to have given such surprising results that it is It is unfortunate that the medical establishment continues to ignore ozone therapy. “
How does ozone work in the body?
Ozone can be created for use in ozone therapy using an oxygen tank or oxygen concentrator with a good ozone generator capable of creating ozone in concentrations between approximately 10 mg / ul and 60 mg / ul. A concentration higher than 70-80 is not recommended and lower levels are more suitable for internal use. The ozonator essentially binds an additional oxygen molecule to the traditional double oxygen molecule (O2) which is converted to ozone (O3). Almost immediately, that single molecule will break off and begin to adhere to the walls of viruses, bacteria, fungi, molds, parasites, pesticides, chemicals, poisons, decaying matter, odors, yeast, and weakened cells.
Singlet neutralizes pathogens, turning them into dead waste that can then be eliminated from the body. Cells that are susceptible to ozone are those that have weak or simplistic enzyme coatings; it cannot penetrate healthy cells. The diseased cells are destroyed and carried away by the circulatory system where the organs of elimination can get rid of them. This process takes time, so it is better to use lower doses of ozone over a longer period of time rather than high doses in a short period of time.
Relief from some conditions may take time to manifest, so it is important to continue treatments until toxins are completely removed.
What can ozone do? What is it for?
Ozone was used extensively to treat gangrene on the battlefields of the First World War. Today it is extremely popular for sterilizing water due to its incredible disinfection capabilities. It is currently used to help people with herniated discs with excellent results in approximately 70% of patients and in some dental procedures where sterilization is required around a tooth. Germany has been using ozone successfully since 1959. Russia touts more than 40 years of success in using ozone for tuberculosis. Cuba has used ozone in hospitals since 1986.
Thousands of patients with acute and chronic joint diseases achieved rapid pain relief, reduced inflammation, and improved mobility using ozone without side effects. It has also been shown to affect the body in these ways:
- It can clean arteries and veins while stimulating the production of white blood cells.
- It can purify the blood and lymphatic systems.
- It can help prevent and reduce damage from stroke.
- May improve overall brain function
- It can boost the immune system, making it possible to fight invaders more effectively.
- It can normalize the production of hormones and enzymes.
- It can inactivate bacteria, viruses and fungi.
- Improves circulation and stimulates oxygen metabolism.
- May increase tumor dissolution (according to Bocci, most patients studied with chemotherapy- and radiation-resistant metastatic cancer reported marked improvement in quality of life with long-term O3-AHT treatments)
Studies by Velio Bocci and many others are discovering more about what ozone can do. Over time, the FDA may accept and promote the benefits of a natural therapy with wide applicability rather than focusing solely on non-natural therapies with high rates of adverse reactions.
How can ozone therapy be used?
We always recommend speaking with an experienced ozone physician to determine how you want to use ozone and why. We cannot provide specific dosages and times, but these are some of the ways people use ozone today.
Drink ozonated water: Using an oxygen source and ozone generator, you bubble ozone into a water bubbler that has an ozone destruction system to prevent ozone from freely escaping into the room. The bubbler has an extra-tight silicone stopper that makes it easy to store water.
Breathing ozone: You don’t want to breathe ozone directly because it can be strong and cause you to cough. By first bubbling through the oil, ozone is much easier to breathe. You need an oxygen source, an ozone generator, and an oil bubbler.
Ozone insufflation: Ozone can be inflated in a number of ways, but two of the most popular methods involve an oxygen source, an ozone generator, an ozone humidifier, and a hearing aid or rectal catheter.
Using ozone with steam: Steam has a wide variety of benefits on its own, but it also opens pores and allows easy absorption of ozone. You need an oxygen source, an ozone generator, and a good steam sauna like Steam Sauna Pro or Portable Home Steam Sauna. It is also possible to use far infrared ozone if you have a good far infrared sauna like the Saunex Sauna Cabinet.
Direct ozone to a part of the body: By using an oxygen source, ozone generator, and ozone cup, you can direct ozone onto wounds, scars, or other small problem areas. I personally use this on new bug bites – just five minutes of ozone permanently stops the itch.
Ozonated olive oil: Olive oil has proven to be great for some skin conditions that I have had. The oil holds ozone very well and you can get it without having to buy oxygen or generators, making it by far one of the most popular ozone applications we’ve come across.
A final thought
Writing about how the “hazardous use” of ozone by unprepared doctors and quacks has contributed to a poor understanding of ozone therapy, Bocci summed up the topic perfectly: “It must be emphasized that if ozone is used judiciously accordingly with precisely defined guidelines, it does not cause acute or chronic side effects. After two decades of practical applications and the results observed in patients after conventional remedies have proven unsatisfactory, one has the feeling that if ozone therapy could be accepted and used in all hospitals, it would represent a small but important medical revolution capable of curing or stabilizing various diseases in many patients in both rich and poor countries. “
